Quality commitment

Built to WRAP specification. Built to Last. Designed to Lead

At Space for Waste, quality isn’t a feature, it’s a foundation. Every product we deliver is manufactured to the highest standards to meet the rising demands of UK waste legislation, WRAP best practice, and sustainability goals across public and private sectors.

We design and build waste storage infrastructure that performs in the real world, on housing estates, in education and healthcare settings, across commercial sites, and in council-managed public spaces. Our bin housings don’t just meet expectations, they help you exceed them.

Supporting WRAP guidance and UK waste legislation

As England moves towards full implementation of the mandatory food waste collection regulations by 31 March 2026, infrastructure must be ready. WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) has provided clear guidance on how food waste must be stored, securely, hygienically, and with the user in mind.

Our product ranges are designed specifically to support this transition, aligning with WRAP’s recommendations and helping you:

  • Provide enclosed, vermin-proof storage for food waste
  • Prevent odours and contamination with sealed, foot-operated units
  • Meet fire safety and hygiene expectations in shared environments
  • Create clearly defined disposal points with custom signage and stream separation

This approach not only supports compliance but elevates the user experience and environmental performance of your site.

Precision manufacturing

All of our steel manufacturer is a fully accredited facility operating under:

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management
  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety

The facility uses UK and EU-sourced steel and combines precision laser-cutting, TIG and MIG welding, CNC folding, and high-performance powder coating to deliver exceptional product consistency. Every unit is quality-checked and traceable.

Our team works in close partnership with this facility to ensure the bin housings meet real-world needs, including fire safety, corrosion resistance, and lifecycle durability.

Durability and safety built in

Our waste housings are designed to withstand:

  • Heavy use in public spaces and multi-occupancy developments
  • Exposure to the elements, thanks to galvanised steel and weather-resistant coatings
  • Potential fire risk, with fire-rated options available where required
  • Vandalism and misuse, through secure enclosures and locking options

Internal components, such as space bars, deflector plates and optional locking systems, are engineered for longevity, and all housing types are easy to maintain and service.

Sustainability in every build

Sustainability is core to our product design and supply chain. Our manufacturing partner follows a low-waste, high-efficiency production model, and many of our products are made using recycled or recyclable materials. We're proud to support clients working towards net-zero goals or improved ESG performance.

Optional green roof systems are also available on selected units, helping sites boost biodiversity while turning waste infrastructure into a visual asset.

Why quality matters now more than ever before

With waste regulation tightening and expectations rising, poor-quality bin stores are no longer acceptable. A rusting, overflowing, unhygienic bin area isn’t just unpleasant, it’s a compliance risk and a reputational liability.

Choosing a trusted, quality-led solution helps:

  • Futureproof your estate against changing legislation
  • Reduce long-term maintenance and replacement costs
  • Improve hygiene and safety for users
  • Deliver a visible commitment to environmental responsibility

If you're planning infrastructure upgrades ahead of the 2026 food waste deadline or need support selecting WRAP-aligned products, we're here to help.

Every Space for Waste unit is a result of careful design, proven manufacturing, and a commitment to helping you deliver cleaner, safer, smarter waste environments.
